These and the 223 are very popular rifles in Australia (no autos). I just picked up a 308 version, brand new! Apart from the BPCR I bought in 1994 or 5, I can't ever remember buying a new rifle apart from a few when I started out some 40 years ago and a Diana air rifle.
I will run the barrel in with some jacketed stuff and then try cast. This will see both bullets as I intend to make it a wet weather Sambar rifle and 308s only really work with premium bullets, I'll save the cast for the 444! The rest of the game will see cast travelling their way right quick. Has anyone used this rifle with cast? What worked? It is a serious rifle and has all the 'cred' points. Reminds me of my old 870.
