According to our guide the Davidson is famous for skunking fishermen. LOML and I took a trip after he taught LOML to cast a fly rod. Took us up by the fish hatchery if you are familiar with the river in south western North Carolina. Our first time fishing trout with a fly rod. This is a midge stream, so we fished tiny flies underwater.

Between the two of us we caught and released 11 trout, on a wild catch and release stream. No stocked trout in this river above a certain point.

I've been flyfishing for bluegill since I was a teenager. LOML never did, always used a bush button or open spinning reel. We both learned a lot.

Had a lot of fun, came back exhausted!

Sorry, no pic. We were both too busy fishing to take pics, and the camera was in the car back at the guide's business. Since it was catch and release no keepers, although three of them were big enough to feed us. I caught the two smallest, about three inches! Not unexpected in a wild river.

That's how it should be. ;)

Sounds like fun, I love to fish with a flyrod. Mostly bream, largemouth and stripers. LOML confused me also.

LOML = Love of my life, yes. I just can't handle SWMBO especially after reading the books. Don't want to model my relationship of 37 years that way!
