Gonna make a carbine barrel for my Encore.

What is the minimum barrel length for canada. If it varies I will be out west, mainly passing through to Alaska.

as a rule of thumb, you can't make [or shorten] your own barrel below 18" (18.5" for semi-autos).
but if it's factory made the barrel can be any length as long as the rifle is 26" or more.

actually if its a factory made barrel or a replacement barrel made and marked by a licensed manufacturer in Canada. There are manufactures of barrels in Canada who make down to 8" barrels for the Rem 870 for example.
