This is one of those long term project guns, one of these days I'll finish modifiying the magazine, blue it, and properly stock it. It's based on an enfield with a douglas 1-15" barrel. The smith cut the throat extra deep so I can load 50 bmg pills, if I should desire. 2/3rds the velocity of a 50 bmg with 1/2 the powder, not a bad deal.

So far the cast loads consisted of a 550 gr cast over 100 gr varget for 2250 fps, 600 gr cast over 100gr varget for 2200 fps, and a 470 gr cast over varying charges of unique for 1050-1150 fps. The 600 gr load really gets your attention, and that's a starting load! The 470 gr cast is like giant 22rf, well kinda like setting off 11 shots in one.

Go to High Tech Ammo and get some spotter/tracers. They're great fun as long as things are pretty wet out. Especially interesting at really long range, you know when it finally gets there.

Awesome, dude. Really awesome. I love big bore rifles. I wish I could afford the 416 rigby double that I got to hold once. Somehow..... 60 grand just escapes me for a rifle. I love your build. Keep us posted.
