BB's for cleaning brass

I think it would be more like shotpeening than cleaning.

I think air gun BB are copper plated steel. Never tried them, but that does bring up some questions; tumble or wobble? Wet or dry? Mebbe steel shot (shotgun ammo)?

I use lorton lapidary tumblers with bb gun bbs & joy dishwashing soap added to water & sometimes add lemon juce if any cases are tarnished , been doing it this way for about 35 years ! with perhaps 1 million cases cleaned in this manner . as for drying i either let them sit out or dry in the sun but if im in a hurry i put them in a old toster oven and heat on the lowest setting for about 1/2 hour.

OK, I can visualize BB's & steel shot will clean. How well do they polish the brass?
If like this - I'll give them a try in the rotary with burnishing solution
BTW, these cleaned brass were shot with black powder!

If you use them wet you would need to dry them or next time they would just be one big ball of rust.

been using B-Bs for several years, don't know about the brass, but the B-Bs sure are shiney.

No matter what I use walnut,cobz,bb's,ricez whatever... I still gotta dig the **** outta the insides and flash holes!! Is there something that I am missing, or is this the norm for this PITA task!!![smilie=f:
