A few years ago I picked up a 5 cavity Saeco #254 mould for the .30 Carbine. The bevel base had been removed (very well) and it casts and shoots beautifully.

Has anyone else come across a 5 cavity Saeco? I have never found reference to one and in some correspondence with Redding they could shed no light either.

I would be grateful for any information. Thanks.

Simon.

Ken Walters is a SAECO expert, but I think he has been banned?

Why would anyone get banned from this site??

I have 2, 4 and 8 cavity saecos moulds and have heard of 3 cavity moulds but not 5 cavity but at one time about 20+ years ago they would make special order moulds ! thats how i got my 8 cavity moulds from them.
It also helps to stone a small bevel/vent line on the top inside edge of each half of the mould blocks to increase mould venting to produce better filled out bullets .

I have 2 and 4 cavities as well. Also one 3 cavity and one 8 cavity with two different .41 bullet designs. I will try to upload a photo. I do enjoy threads more when there are pictures.

Here is a picture of the mould. It really casts and shoots well.

I had a 5 cavity saeco in .356 rn .it worked well in the 9mm.I tried to find anything i could about it. The only thing I found that they were made by cramer and stamps with saecos name.

Thank you. I have never seen Cramer mould. Choice is a little limited in the UK. Although, thanks to the internet, there is a much more global market these days. This mould was an eBay purchase and I have been very pleased with it.

I have a 5 cavity Saeco .38 SWC mold. About 6 years ago I called Saeco about 6 and 8 cavity molds that were listed on their site. I believe they were special order. They basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about and that there was no such thing. Grrrrrr.
