I'm loading the C309-180-R for my 30-06 remi 700. I have some H4895 and would like to try some other powder that do well in the '06. I have access to Hodgdon, IMR, Winchester and Vitavuori. Anything else I have no steady supplier.

What would you suggest I try next.

For 1200-1400 fps, use Unique. 1400-1600 fps use 2400 and 3/4 grain of Dacron fluffed to fill between powder and boolit. For 1600--1900 use 4198, 4895, or Reloder 7.

Unique and 2400. Start with about 10 gr Unique or 16 gr of 2400. I have never tried
dacron, and I get really good accy with either of these "std loads". Both will run in the 1600
fps range or a bit more depending on gun, barrel length and boolit wt. You can bump these
up a bit with either one - use a good loading manual.

Depends totally on what you plan to do with it.

with your powder choices i'd give 4227 a try.
i would suggest win 680 but they don't make that anymore.
vitavouri makes a powder very close to the alliant 2400 that would do very well also.
