The 31141 HP is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite 30 cal. cast bullets.
It is a real shooter in just about any .30 cal. rifle that I've ever tried it in.
I just purchased a 1903 - A3 , 30-06 Sporter with the original 2 groove
barrel. The bore is pristine.

I took the rifle to the range to test it. WOW ! ! Looks like it is going to be a KEEPER !

Can you see why I like the 31141 Hp ?

That's a good group! I like the 31141 mold I have (old, single cavity Ideal). Are you casting them as hollowpoints or hollowpointing them with a Forster tool or similar afterwards?

Impressive!

I’m also interested about the HP. If you’re casting them, is it a factory HP mould or was it hollow-pointed later?

I have a double-cavity I use for the 30-30. I may have to do some experimenting.

Thanks for sharing.

I sent the mold to Buckshot for him to do his HP work.

Ben, did you try the boolit before you had Buckshot hp it?
If so, what kind of groups did you get with it?
I had heard that the old 2 groove barrells are very good with cast boolits. Your rifle confirms that.

Yes, I shot the bullet as a solid for 20 yrs. prior to HP'ing it. It actually shoot tighter groups after the HPing work was done.

Many believe that the balance point of the bullet is shifted rearward making the bullet perform better.

I have heard that also.
Forgot to tell you Ben, that is some fine shooting.
I am in the progress of working on pp'd boolits in my M44 Mosin Nagant. If I can get that kind
of accuracy, I will be very pleased.
Thanks
Jack
