Been thinking of making a trap for use with my handguns only. It seems that a snail trap is about the best thing there is and they seem "somewhat" simple to make. Anyone here built one or have any suggestions?

Here is one I found that may work, though I'd probably build it on a smaller scale.

It is probably a waste of time, but it would be nice to recover my lead from target shooting

When I think about it, I think a large chunk of A500 steel angled down into a sand box sounds pretty good.

I shoot into one of these traps.I made mine out of .5 inch plate, about 12-15 inches on the front, and all 4 sides taper down to about 4.5 inch in the back. Then,i welded a 4 inch 90 degree elbow onto this, which points down into a steel pail.Ive blown the back out of the 90 a few times,so have to reweld once in a while.

HI,
There is a very large thread on bullet traps.
Rasmussen industries in Lehi, UT. made me one of these snail traps years ago, which I posted about there.:Fire::Fire:

Another design.

I tried searching for it, but the forum search engine isn't working for some reason

I just shoot into half of a plastic barrel filled with sand. I have a sieve box that sits across my wheelbarrow with 1/4" screen. About twice a year I siene it out and shovel the sand back in.
