I've been a member of the forums since 2007 and have read many posts by
Le Loup Solitaire and never gave a thought to the meaning of the alias.
I just learned that it means "The lone wolf" in french and thought I'd share that info with the other members here. In other words, I learned something new and wanted to share. [smilie=s:

I misread it, too. I thought it was "loupe".

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I read it with an "e" also, thought he meant it as single lense, or monacle. French, lupus, wolf, that makes sense.

I've worked with a few Quebeckers

they often back talkwards, such as having a Licence Driver, or watching the Cup Stanley

To be correct it was a lesson in French (or Romance languages) syntax, not grammar, from an redneck Idaho boy. Better yet. :mrgreen:

.......we have many French Canadians, particularly around Manchester and Nashua, NH, and Old Orchard Beach in Maine. They came from Canada in the late 1800's and later to work in the mills, and the Franco-American influence is still very strong here.
It is not uncommon to hear Canadian French being spoken on the street here. The English is based on their French.
" I come down from Canada with my wife, side by each. We stopped for some breakfast at the diner and had two heggs that face the sun....and a pair of toast".....
Always strange to hear it in the good 'ol US of A.

Despite the fact that Rick nailed it, I do recall being taught French in the 5th grade. If I could only recall more of it.
