as soon as the sun goes down and it cools off a bit i am going to cast up a few boolits .
with a bit of luck i will post a pic or two tonight to show some progress .

Imagine what it's like living within walking distance of a Graf's store....

I been there many times. Since the mid 70's. Went to Francis Howell HS. Must have a ton of lead in the berm at busch wildlife.

And the buffet at AMERISTAR casino! The St Charles store is pretty good, but the one at Mexico MO........... I'm building a list for the wife's next trip to visit her sister.

Huh, I did not know that Graf's is also based in MO. I'm from Augusta and drive past Francis Howell every time I get home (a few times a year). Small world...

I would put Graf's at the very top of the food chain as far as anything to do with reloading supplies.

Nothing like getting (often below) mail order prices locally without the hazmat!

5shotbfr, be sure to post up your results when you get to shooting! Put lube in the lower crimp groove too and crimp in the top groove. About 26gr of H110/296 is all you want behind it, I think 26.5gr is max. Work UP from 24gr in .5gr increments and watch for pressure. There will be some slight pressure signs at the top level. This is a 48,000psi caliber! If the ejector rod needs a hard push or pounding, you are over the line by at least a grain.

Be aware that the Lee mold would lead in my gun (my .475 seems more prone than most other BFRs to leading) after about 15rds. I figured you saw about that in my posts, since I have posted it several times. I have a few boolits cast up from that mold that I plan to try regular lube in the grooves plus LLA on to see how that works, but since I have a good mold that didn't lead (much) last time out, it is not high on my priority list. I have used LLA on store-bought cast (junk) and it solved a leading problem for me there in my Glock 20 - but accuracy did not improve.

I didn't know that Busch Wildlife had a berm for shooting. When did this happen? I used to live about 7 miles from there (OFallon) but moved in 1997.

Small world...

They had a range for years. Rifle trap skeet and in a different spot a great walking archery range. In the 80's and 90's I was out there 2 or 3 times a week. Go fish in the morning then go shoot something.

Be bummed to find out they closed it.

I was there with my dad not two years ago. FWIW, it is a pay-range, though I have found that to be the norm here in Ohio since I moved here a few years ago.

I do not like public ranges. They force you to shoot from the bench and/or you shoot for 45 minutes and change targets for 15 of every 60minutes you pay for. There is also a 3 second per shot rule.
