I wasn't planning on another revolver this soon but this one was offered at a good price and well, you know how temptation is so, my upcoming(sometime this week) model 15-3 K-frame. Now, I need some target grips for it. I don't get into the magna grips much.

I've been looking for one that nice for some time. I really like casting and shooting the .38's. They make great walking around guns, accurate, cheap to shoot.

That's a fine example of a Model 15.

Enjoy!

P.S. I like the magnas, myself. They seem to fit me good. Those are hopefully numbered to the gun. Do not get rid of them, keep them safe.

I was told it was a safe queen with probably no more than a box of "shells" as it was called, through it. I can live with that. I've already made up some rounds for it but sure can't wait to get that 358477 mold to make more. The magnas are numbered to the gun.

One more pic...

How did you make it stick to the antler?

My wife has one just like it I picked up for her. Shoots great!!! Can I steal it from her?

I have a 15-3 also, fine pistol. Mine's a beater, though. Very smooth action and a good shooter. Congrats on a great find.

Probably the best handgun that was ever made. Id leave the grips. They look a heck of alot better on there then some giant target grips would.

One of the Tyler "T" grips would go a long way to making that better feeling in the hand.

Herrets used to make a grip thats bigger than the Magnas, smaller than the factory target grips. I have them on several of my Smiths. Fleabay has them regularly for cheap.

How did you make it stick to the antler?

Why, duct tape of course! Nah, I think he stood it up and used the antler to keep it in place. These are the previous owner's pics, I won't pick it up till Friday. It's somewhere between WA and TN right now.

I considered the Tyler T's but not certain about that yet. Plenty of time to chew on what sort of grips may look/feel good. Maybe some of KB's Roper grips...yeah, that's the ticket.

Take care of those Magnas if you take them off, making sure they can always be matched to the (very nice!) revolver. I'd wander over to the S&W forum and read up on Tyler before ordering an adapter (and I have several) from them--check out BK Grips for similar adapters.

I don't care for the color of the BK adapters...reminds me of old piano keys.

Nice wheel gun ya got there. I have a 15-4 in not nearly as nice of shape. It is pretty much my go to hand gun. I prefer the large target grips. Kind of goofy looking but feels right.

I LOVE my 15-4. it is simply the best trigger of any production handgun I have ever handled.

I was at the range Friday and left about 11:30. Thirty minutes after I left I was called about something I left there. When I asked what they told me I left about 15 minutes too soon as the Model 15-3 I had bought arrived shortly after I left...my kind of luck. Rather than turn around and drive back(about 20 miles round trip) I bit the bullet and waited till today. There was no disappointment in it after looking it over. It locks up about as tight as it gets, timing is perfect, trigger pull is 4#, according to my pull gauge and I checked the throats with my pin gauges and they were a snug .357". It's a beauty and the trigger pull is second to none I've ever had. I'm already in the process of making up some ammo for next time. Hopefully, my 358477 and Ballisti-Cast #651 mold will get here soon.

I have a 15-4, and I love that thing to death. If you don't mind rubber, mine came with pachmayr grips. It points like a dream with those. But they do look best in wood. Can't beat wood.
