My B and M measure is sluggish on the return stroke. I would like to lubricate it but I don't want to use oil for fear of contaminating the powder. I tried powdered graphite but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Did you try disassembling it and cleaning the surfaces that rub together?

Welcome to the site. There are several different spray lubes that dry and leave no sticky residue. Silicone spray is one of them. Just clean the parts and spray lightly and let dry before reassembly.

Hope this helps.

Go to your local automotive supply store and buy a tube of powdered graphite that is used for locks. Clean your B&M scrupulously then lightly dust the graphite onto sliding surfaces. Cycle a few times to remove excess graphite and use powder measure with pleasure. Repeat as needed.

Perhaps the return spring is weak and needs to be replaced?

Moly disulphide, scrub it into the metal on both parts. It is a dry powder in the
form that you want, NOT the grease that is filled with MoS2.
