Shot my first cast bullets through my Redhawk this weekend and was pleasantly surprised with the results.

Looks like the bore constriction is going to be a leading issue until i remove the constriction (thread locking at the frame joint).

I used the RCBS 240 grain Semi-Waddcutter mold in a lyman #2 alloy over some 2400 powder at standard 44 special pressure levels.

Shot at 20 yards off hand. All the practice I have been putting in with my H&R 999 have really paid off.

Check your throats, too. My Redhawk has .432+ throats.

That's darn fine shooting, especially with a barrel that is suffering from a bore constriction. My blackhawk would be hard pressed to hold it's shots inside the circle of your target when shot from a rest at that distance.

Don't be suprised if Taylor throating or lapping the throat doesn't cut those groups in 1/2.

My bullets are sized to 0.430"

My Throats measure around 0.4310-0.4315"

I am fairly certain throats are not causing me any trouble.

Having previously slugged the barrel it has a fairly tight constriction at the frame joint so at some point I will get around to rectifying that.

My lube is a homemade concoction of 50/50 moly fortified lithium wheel bearing grease and beeswax. And then the bullets are pan lubed and sized.

Thought I should toss up a picture of my revolver as well.
