Hey when ever you get tired of that colt .48 I'd be happy to take it off your hands[smilie=s: you know you can never have too many .44's:smile: Do you have the mold you want since you have other .44's? I would have to think you will need a special mold from Tom for a special .44:bigsmyl2:

it will.
use the skeeter load.

i just happened to have those components on hand and that's what i put together for my three specials without thinking about it.
didn't realize it was the skeeter load till later.
they all shot very well with it.
i gotta get the throats on the stainless opened a titch, the blued and the bisley were correct.

Those grips remind me of a plow handle. How does it feel in comparison with the standard Blackhawk? I've never picked up a Bisley and was curious.

A Bisley is just fine with low recoil for me but not with the huge thumpers. I have trouble with my middle knuckle. The special will be nice. They do feel good.
I prefer the plow handle for larger guns.

The Bisley feels more like an N-frame without the recoil shoulder (hump) at the top. More room to get ahold of it vs the other SA grip frames. A lot of people like it.

I used the DRAGOON over the XR3-red grip frame for years. Then I finally broke down and bought a BISLEY...had it cut to 5.5 inches and an action job by Jim Stroh (ALPHA PRECISION.) Now half of my RUGERS are BISLEYS. In the last two years or so, I have really come to like the HUNTER grip frame and a SUPER BLACK HAWK hammer on a 5.5 inch Original Size VAQUERO; this configuration works almost as well as the BISLEY for recoil control and a bit quicker from the holster for Cowboy Action Shooting.

IF the BISLEY smacks you on the knuckle, the back of the trigger guard can be re-contoured with a file. John Taffin shows this modification in SINGLE ACTION SIXGUNS...I think Larry Caudhill did this on a gun that received custom grips. I flatten out the back side of the DRAGOON trigger guard to remove the little hook. You can barely see it, BUT you can feel it real quick when you touch off a warm load!
