Does anyone have any experance loading the RD .359 190 gn. in a 357 Mag. or Max.?? With the .256 melplat seams like a good hunting bullet, although limited case Cap. in most Mag. "wheel guns"

I'm not familiar with that paticular mold, but have loaded alot of 200 gr wfn's in a 357 mag and a 357 max. In my guns 2400 is the powder in the 357, and AA1680 in the max. I tried H-110 in the max and got eratic results in accuracy and velocity, 1680 wasn't much better until the loads were compressed and then it settled right down.

Its too long to load in my 10in 357 Mag Contender barrel.

In my 15.75in Max it produces 2000fps with H110 and LiL Gun. IMHO 1680 is a great powder for the 357 Max, but I think it does better with the lighter bullets, 180 or less, for my purposes.

In "my" barrel, the 180 RCBS Sil bullet and 1680 provides sub 1/2in groups at 100 yards and Vel of 2050 fps. WFIW...

The 175gr Ranch Dog is also a great bullet and worth considering IMHO…

Thank you, one & all. I'm also looking at getting a drill bit modified to HP some Saeco # 356, for my DW Max.
