got a question here...
I just purchased a Herters .357 and its cylinder length is 3/16" LONGER than the cylinder on my S&W Highway Patrol model.....
I would have thought that cylinder lengths would have been standardarized ?

The additional 3/16 of an inch allows me to seat the older style Keith boolits out further and crimp onto the crimp groove as opposed to crimping onto the upper driving band....

just wondering out-loud here

Yes, odd as it seems the 28 does have a short cylinder. This is most obvious to folks using the 359429 or clones thereof. In the 28 you can't seat the bullet to crimp in the crimp groove.

The cylinder on my GP100 is shorter than the one on my Blackhawk. I can't seat a 358429 to the crimp groove in the GP100, but it works fine in the BH.
