Anybody tried it? Depending on which rumor you believe, it's the same as another ball powder - AA9 or AA4100. Or maybe neither.

Some 10mm info here:

I won't bother if it's AA9, since I already have that and have used it. But if it's slightly faster than AA9, Ima buy some. :2gunsfiring_v1:

WTH is this smiley?:bootgive:

same thing as aa9 or wc820. Burning rate may vary a bit between lots of those 3 powders but there basicaly the same.

Had a Chat with the Western Powders ballistician about this very issue.
AA4100 is the same as Enforcer.
Neither one is a good candiddate for the 10mm. Too slow and you would be compressing the charge in the attempt to gain more velocity tha AA#9.
Less efficient.

http://home.hiwaay.net/~stargate/powder/powder.htm burning chart here has it right by aa9 and listed quite a bit faster then 4100. Ive found that to be the case when i tried it.

Here's Ramshot's powder burn rate chart. I kinda like the way it's laid out. They show enforcer having the same burn rate at Lil' Gun and N110.

Remember that the chart is NOT linear. It doesn't tell you how MUCH slower (or faster) one powder is from another.

id watch that chart. they list aa9 as being faster then 2400 which is totaly wrong!!

Jeff / Lloyd ... I have noticed those issues as well. Which leads me to a question (sorry for the thread drift) ....

What is the "standard of measure" for powder burn rates? We have BHN for measuring boolit hardness, PSI and CUP for measuring bore pressure ... I have never seen any information related to the standard of measure for powder burn rate.

I understand that different lots will vary in pressure and rate of burn, so that in itself could explain some of those anomalys in Ramshots burn rate chart.

I have used Enforcer in the .45colt round and I quite like it I do know it is slower than 2400 and its been about 20 years since Ive burned any #9 so I can't say to that. I do know it is very consistent in my guns and gives me very standard deviation. This probably doesn't help in your situation but it's the only experience I have with it. I emailed them to get some Ruger only loads for a 340gr bullet and they responded very quick. Possibly True Blue would work better for 10mm. Another Ramshot I'm rather fond of

Doesn't get any more definitive than that.
