it seems to me that I have to learn a whole new language in order to understand what TO DO, and what NOT to do... and on top of that there's all of the terms that refer to the various processes of either casting, swaging or reloading.

So does anyone have a compiled list of a boolits vocabulary? if not, maybe we could compile one?

for example, caming over... I dont really know what that means.
tinsel fairy... so far all posts sound really bad. tinsel fairy please stay away!

etc...

A glossary of terms would make a great sticky , not sure where it should reside.

Caming over {over the top} when your just about at the top of the stroke on a press and the Ram moves that last amount , Hard pressure, then has a slight release at the top of the stroke.

You know, if you look through the stickys, you will find these.

well... "compiled" was the key word. I do read these posts and threads for my own edification but I also do find words and phrases that I haven't found yet. I think something like that could be helpful to those getting started, but I'd never substitute it for doing research.

It's a lot harder to have a conversation if the vocabulary isn't common. That's my opinion...

Cam over: in a reloading press
the pin at the bottom of the ram and the pin in the
rotating link (to which the handle attaches)
are in a straight line when the ram is at top of it's travel.
Push a little farther and the ram starts downward,
pressure is relieved. Has a snap or pop feeling.

Tinsel Fairy:
Mythical being who capriciously causes molten lead
to spring forth from the melting pot (couldn't have been
MY fault!).

Many other terms can be found by searching for "terms":

My "what do they mean by that?" shop is always open, lol. It's not as hard as some people make it sound.

Guess every hobby has a vocabulary. "If you use that
RV cam you're gonna need roller rockers."
I don't think anyone minds if you ask what a word or phrase
means. Pretty helpful bunch here.
