Had to share my wifes turkey from WI in a different thread, we went out this morning and had this one come in, so I had to post it also.
After what seemed like 10 minutes of "no you shoot it, no you shoot it, back and forth to each other, I finally helped this one go night night, before he started walking off.
He's the 3rd smallest I've taken in last 3 yrs.
Last yr and yrs before birds were exactly identical and killed on the same day.
Last yrs and yr befores were killed on Mothers Day, 20 lb, 12" beard, 1 3/8" spurs.

This one was 22lbs, 11 1/4" beard and only 1 spur that measured 1 1/8". Other must of gotten broke fighting.

Nice bird, but I wont get a full mount on this one, since I got the last 2 mounted.

Good luck, the birds are pretty much done around here.
This one came in silent, we heard him gobble once behind us, I keep saying to the left of us, my wife keeps saying from the right.
Anyways where he did come from was to the left of us, unless he made a circle around us from behind.
But 25 steps away, he went night night.
All I did was give the old standby of 3 clucks, 3 yelps. I din't know if he was looking for the hen or not, or just cruising thru.

Ya know, ole Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be our national bird instead of the eagle. I wonder, if that had happened, if we would be eating eagle for thanksgiving now?
