I just bought a sweet little pistol I've had my eye on-the S&W M66-4. It's a pre-MIM pistol and I think the last version before MIM parts. Fine looking and a great shooter I'm told. I haven't gotten it yet but this is what it looks like. I'm already getting rounds together.:-D

Yep-and no worry about spouse theft! I swore I had bought the last revolver but...temptation, you know, can be overcoming.

I have a 66-1 that I bought new in 1979 that I love. You're going to like the way this revolver shoots. My best shot with mine was a coyote at 87 paces on the first shot.

As far as I'm concerned, this was one of the best revolvers S&W ever made, right behind my Model 57.

Hope this helps.

Wow! been looking for a replacement for the one I traded away when I retired from L.E. Haven't found one yet, but I am still looking. You're gonna love that piece. Don't let anyone talk you out of it!

btw, i have a 686 three inch I will trade even up for a three inch 66.

The beauty of the 38/357 pistols is you can't hardly pick a bad load for them. There's such a sundry of boolit styles and shapes and powder choice is wide and varied. Everything I've tried from AA#5 and Universal to 231, Unique and 2400 shoots wonderfully accurate.

That's a sweet piece. I have a 2" 10, a 3" 65, and a 4" 66. I would really love a 2.5" 19 to round out the collection.

That's a nice looking revolver.

I've just recently come to appreciate S&W K frames. Last year I found a nice old model 66 on consignment in a small gun shop just down the road from my house. The serial number dates to '72 and it shoots great. It has a 4" barrel, and seems to me to be about the ideal size for a .357 magnum.

Now you're making me regret passing up on a very clean 19-6 w/2.5-in barrel at the gun show a few weeks ago. I think it's your boot grips that make it so appealing.

I have a model 66-6 4inch that I got from a gun shop in Kentucky. It is one of the newer lockable ones, but I love that thing so much, I turned down a trade for a Kimber 1911. They really are just about perfect.

Can't say I blame you for turning down a Kimber. I love the 1911 but they can be awfully finicky about feeding. Given a choice, I'd pick a revolver.

I have a 66-2 3-inch. Perfection. Carried it for years and shot it in IDPA SSR for three seasons some years back. Just a freaking awesome fighting gun for personal defense. Also had a 19-3 2.5-inch in nickel that was nearly as good, but I prefer the 3-inch gun and will never part with it.

I have the same one, with rubber grips. My first revolver, picked up about 10 years ago in the used counter for 300 bucks. It's got the best trigger of any pistol I own, hands down.
