View Full Version : Need a cheap wedge pusher/tool?

I had a stuck wedge in a Pietta J H Dance, tried any number of things and had zero luck, I was over at Home Depot looking for a brass hinge pin when I came across a solid brass sliding lock. I removed the handle on the sliding part so I could get at the part that screws to the wall, I cut one end off close to the screw hole and found it fit the wedge slot perfectly, a few taps with a small brass hammer and wedge moved enough so I could remove it with my fingers.
On the link below you can see the part I used sticking out. I think this works much better then a round punch. Cost about $7.00

Very nice. Any piece of yellow brass is nice, and valuable to keep in a kit. Thanks for the tip.
