Did lyman make at one time a 454424/452424 in single cavity?

Yes ! IDEAL and LYMAN made many slight variations of the 454424 in single cavity through the years! I own six and it is very interesting to watch the changes that were made through time. Elmer would not be very happy with a few of them ! :) :)

I am not sure if the 452424 was made in single cavity but I would guess it probably was. I own a 2-cavity but it casts under-size !

i have a two and 4 cav and have seen a single cav in person.
noses longer/shorter,square and rounded lube grooves.
different drive band thicknesses.
nose diameter thickness at the base changes.
