I have Latherunner alum rolls(.016) and Pat's Checkmaker. I tried to use a 450 and 45 Lyman to seat the gas checks and they seem to crush and shorten the boolit as they get pressed into the sizer. The mold is a Lyman 356156A. Not sure what the A means but it does drop a boolit with the smaller area for a check. My alloy is wheel weights.

I'm guessing my alum may be too thick ? I tried some soda cans but they fell right off.
Whats the best way to proceed ?

Buy a FCIII chex maker and use .008 lithographic plate!

what is the dia. of the boolit shank? what is the sized dia. of the boolit? give me those measurements and I will give you the thickness of the alu. you should use. Ed

My understanding of .357 boolits is they have a fat shank. 16 thou material will likely be twice as thick as you should use as Mr Sage has eluded to above.

All quiet James. I trade you. At least you know when twisters are coming.
