my cast bullet 45-120 single shot rifle and I are off to RSA about 640 am Sunday. I'll be gone two weeks hunting in the Limpopo Province.

I want you all to play nice and be considerate of each other until I get back.

regards,

Rich

At the risk of extending an inappropriately located post, I'll second that idea.

How many lube grooves does a Limpopo require?

Kinda looking forward to the hunt report, no idea where he's going or what he's hunting but it sounds like fun.

I have a smokeless RRB action that I envision with a lighter contour round barrel built specifically for hunting.

RD's 365 grain RNFP PB and a little smokeless to kill anything I plan to hunt. Maybe I need to find the parts to build it, or find someone to do it.

A bit too much for plains game. We watched about two dozen Zebra milling around for several minutes. Finally the big stallion gets to the front and gives me a perfect broadshot. I squeeze the trigger, and he drops, then jumps up and heads west. We track him half a mile thru the mopane and wait-a-minute thorn bushes and find him dead. The RCBS 520gr RN GC bullet made full penetration and exited his off shoulder. One of the trackers goes back to get the Bakkie (African for pickup truck) while we are taking pictures. He drives back, we winch about 950lbs of Zebra into the back, and he tells Reon (PH) "there is another one leaving a blood trail the other way." We track him down, about the same distance, and I have a second one down and dead. Also full penetration, thru one shoulder and out the ribcage.

This time 2013, I will have two full hides (flatskins in Africa) for rugs. I also got a Kudu cow (for the flatskin and meat), a Blesbok, a Jackal, and a plan to return in 2014 for Leopard and Eland. My CITES paperwork did not arrive in time for the Leopard, and I just did not get a good shot at a real trophy Eland.
Which is good, that is the reason to go back...
