Price for Gas Check Maker

Forgive my ignorance on this one. I've been reading about the different gas check makers, and I know a few of the makers are on this website. BTSniper makes his sagging tools easy to understand how much they cost. But how much for the different gas check makers?

I ordered my first two from Pat, and to be honest, started to get a bit impatient before I got them. Once I got them though, I can say that I think I got my money's worth and then some. In fact, I have ordered two more, since I know what I'm getting is worth it and works very well for my needs. I know that ordering and paying for something is not as common today as it was in the past, but this used to be a very common way of doing business, and still is if we are asking someone to custom-make something for us. So personally I don't see a problem with it, but know many do. To each his own, but the two checkmakers I have on order with Pat aren't the last makers I will be asking him to make me. Great man to deal with, but you may need a little patience if you order something he doesn't have in stock at the time you place your order--like I did.

Prices run the gambit of $45 up to $100, depending on what you need and the quality involved.
Heat treated, precision tooling will, obviously, cost more. But the quality and user satisfaction goes up exponentially.

I also have friends who are in limbo over the check maker advertised here, as I was for 2 1/2 months when a 30 caliber was advertised as "Ready. Who wants one?"
Even when I was notified that a shipping label had been generated with the USPS, it was weeks before the tool was actually shipped.
An inquiring email was replied to with a patented answer I have seen used here in posts.
There is a saying, "Let the buyer beware."

Were posts deleted from here? I could have swore that there was some different posts on here as of this morning. I do find it interesting that any time someone brings up the wait for one of Pats tools, (like I am), they promptly get spanked.

In fact, I haven't seen anyone really say anything nasty either way, but rather just trying to see if anyone else has recieved thier tool yet. Before I get spanked, I would like to say I have been very patient on this matter, especially when I see E-Bay orders that were placed after mine that are shipped and feedback posted.

I also think some of these conversations are a good thing so people know they will not recieve their tool any time quick, even though it may be listed as "in stock". It may make them think differently about ordering from that source. I know I probably would have, knowing what I know now about the wait.

Pat marlin is my favorite, i have some of his and freechex 11 and 111, with Pat you have an ironclad he'll make it right policy, not to mention a first class gentleman to deal with and high quality products.

I left what I thought was the relevant comments including enough to say that if you wanted one of pat's you were likely in for a wait. Those involved in this know this has been discussed ad nauseum at this point and has already started more than one fray between members. Were it new information, I would let it pass, seeing as none of it is, it is just stirring the pot.

Not to offend anyone, but the censoring of posts really troubles me. I can't say I saw anything that should have offended anyone, and it seemed that people that maybe do not know all of the past history are being robbed of information. In fact, there are many who do not even check in here daily.

No offense, but shouldn't it be the obligation of the seller of any product, whether it be a mold, die, or whatever else, to infom the buyers of delays, shortages, etc? In the business I am in, it sure is? Maybe if the seller, whoever that may be, would answer questions with realistic dates personally, instead of canned answers, people wouldn't be asking each other on posts like this, probably out of despiration to see if anyone else has heard anything.

If you look back in the history of the project, you will see it was clearly stated about production developments and delays. I wish people would get up to speed before complaining.
