I have bought four in the last few months from $225 to $400.00

If yours is N.I.B it is likely in line.

It's probably a "deal"
but would be nice to see a photo and know details like STS or Blue, bbl Length, fixed or adjustable sites, wood grips? do they have a nice looking grain ? ect ect ect
Jon

when pondering gun prices, the first thing I do is
Google "gunbroker name of gun "
it's not a "end all be all" for pricing, it's just my first avenue.
I did the google search and here is a nice one...Buy it now for $525

"No deal" here, but I don't like them that much. Things are worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for them.

Security Six's are adjustable sight - the fixed sight version is the speed six.

They are nice guns I have 2 both Bi-Centenial models (made in 1976). Bought one NIB in 79 and picked up a second one in 2002 or 2003.

Both are good shooters.

Little on the high side. Had better be at least new and in the box.

no box though but I got a case
accurate as hell too getting nice groups at 50 yds with it
glad I bought it

keep in mind that security sixes and speed sixes tended to have soft forcing cones that wore fast. I shot the forcing cone out of one and my buddy has gone through two barrels on his two guns.

I also have a Security Six made in 1976 and the dealer that sold it called it a "Liberty Ruger." I don't think means much value wise since all Rugers made in 1976 were so marked. Great shooter though and definitely a keeper.

I will say that's a fair price, but not a great price. Of course there are regional differences to consider. That would probably go for $500 in California because of their roster.
I bought my S&W 65 for $350, and passed on a few Ruger Sixes for less.
