Does anyone have a need for old high speed drill bits?

Save them they are great pin stock material. I sharpen them till I can't and then use the shanks for replacment pins.

Use them either as replacement pins or for "chasing out" a pin without parts falling into, say, a magazine well.

+1 on the drill doctor. I've got a lifetime of drill bits now by just resharpening them. It's foolproof to use.

If you ever break/shatter one, then save the shank for some pins. You can spin them in a drill press and cut through them with a dremel cutoff wheel to the right length for some nice pins that are already hardened and tempered!

I would make use of them! I don't have any Imperial sizes and those do come in handy. Unfortunately I'm a bit far to ship them cost wise. Perhaps someone closer.

Unless they have been heat fried from forcing dull bits through steel, they could be sharpened.

For some odd reason I re-sharpen drill bits on a grinder easily and they cut thru steel like thru butter after that, but I can't for the life of me sharpen a lathe cutter to get smooth cut.
Once in a lifetime I sharpened a parting tool that cut very well and still proud of it. :(

I am restoring a 1954 GMC M211 Deuce And A Half and am always looking to add bits and tools to my collection. I'd love to take the old bits off your hands. I resharpen all mine myself on my grinder. Sort of a lost art.

The bits were sent to a new home about a week ago.

After you grind the tool do you stone it to make it smooth? I found that not only will that give me a smoother cut but the cutter stays sharp much longer.

No, my diamond grinding wheel is very smooth and there is no need to hone.
