So I am in need of new dies for my .44 for shooting cast.
I was going to order the Lyman 3 die set that comes with the M-die
However, after reading the sticky in this forum the dies measurements are as follows

First step/Second step/Bullet sizes
44MP .427 / .431 .428-.430

I will be loading .431 - .432 bullets
So unless I'm missing something the M-die will not open up the case mouth enough.

Lyman makes a larger 44 M die Plug than what comes in the set if you call them, but it still isn't large enough for me. I would buy the set as you will need the M die Body and have a larger plug made. I am experimenting with a 430 Plug for 431+ Boolits. I would go no more than .002 under Bullet size as that will still give you all the neck tension you will ever get. The M die can be gotten to work by using the shaft that holds the plug to flair the case mouth as the step on their plug won't do it.

I have pulled a lot of boolits and none of them were squeezed by the brass so far but I'm trying softer alloys. If you have regular dies, load an empty case with your normal crimp, then pull the bullet and measure it. Vice Grips and a single stage press will work. If the bullet sizes the case you don't have a problem.

I think it is "Track of the Wolf" that makes the extra plugs you need

cheap too

Look for Buckshot who is a member on this site. He makes mine for me.
