Hi All I'm having a small issue loading a .316" cast boolit into a Nagant rifle my bore is .314" I'm sizing a NOE 316299 to .316" I was having trouble closing the bolt and have tracked it down to a neck outside diameter problem my fired cases are .335" and the loaded cast rounds are .337" so is there any reason why I couldn't neck turn these case about .004" to give me clearence?

I would just turn .001 - .002 off to give you a slip fit. If you turn .001 off you reduce the diameter twice as much; i.e. .002. So turning .001 off would reduce the loaded diameter to .335 and turning .002 off would reduce the diameter to .333.

I run into the same thing with my 91/30. .315" is the biggest boolit that will fit. So I use that size, and don't have to touch the cases with reloading dies. It shoots great and the cases last forever. Makes things simple!

A small "Heads Up".. If you take the stock off to wipe off the finish with Acetone. Use rags and old tooth brushes, works great. make sure you don't let the trigger cross pin fall out and then reassemble the rifle.....To get the bolt back out use a cut up credit card strip..All that **** they send you in the mail comes in handy sometimes...Also really hard to find out side in the gravel drive way...Magnet on a stick...
