Opinions: Dan Wesson 357mag 2.5"

So, I have the opportunity to purchase one or more Dan Wesson revolvers in 357mag with 2.5" barrels--in unknown condition, grab-bag style. I'm sure some of you have seen this deal available.

Any idea what something like this is worth? Searched gunbroker and the cheapest frame-only DW 357mag went for about $200. Barrel-shroud-nut combos can go for $200 plus.

Finally, I've heard a lot about how high-quality and accurate the 4-6" Dan Wesson wheelguns are, but not a lot about the snubbies. Advice?

If it's a 15-2 model, barrel swaps are quick, easy, and fairly inexpensive. And the 2" shoots as well as any 2" 357.

Have numerous DW 15/2 in storage. If they are not abused and rusted souds like a good deal. Have the snubby barrel unit. It makes for a nice carry gun and it is still a DW so no worry about what you load in it. You can change the DW barrels in an easy 5 mutes.. so I can go to 10" in just a matter of minutes or whatever length I desire.

For that price I would get at least two and perhaps three.

I'm no fan of the 2 1/2 incher, but for that price, it's definitely a "buy". The DW M-15 can be a real humdinger in the accuracy, but realy works best with a longer barrel. I always thought the 4inch-8inch combination package was just about ideal.

I had a 15-2 and found the 2-1/2 the same as the 8" as far as accuracy, and recoil

blast was more, but with the factory loads I was using, didn't seem to bother me.
