Here is a another calculator
It calculates your fps.
I used it for a round ball and it should be close.

Hi DCP,
I checked it against two cases for which I have measured muzzle velocities, and it was way off. The speed the calculator gave was less than half the measured speeds.
Take care, Tom
Can you give us the load info so. So we can see the problem
I was thinking the table should be close.Because it a Mathematical
you must enter your
barrel length
what kind of powder. (All powder is different) f ff or fff and the weight
weight of bullet
Thanks

Hi DCP,
Gun # 1: 16 bore British stalking rifle, 66 caliber, 32" barrel, one-ounce patched round ball, 130 gr Diamondback FFFg black powder, 1300 fps.
Gun # 2: 45 caliber Parker-Hale Volunteer, 32" barrel, 450 gr Lyman 451114 bullet, 90 gr Diamondback FFFg black powder, 1300 fps.
Your program returned 828 and 566 fps, respectively.
Take care, Tom

It is a mile off. Said my 45 cal does 1360fps, not even close to the 2030fps
which is my standard load.
After using the Davenport formula to deterime the max load
This was from
Don Miller's formula for estimating muzzle velocity for black powder muzzle loaders, Round Ball.

additional email correspondence ]
There are 2 tables one for round ball and one for cartridge
Something isnt right.
