454 Casull/ 45 Colt

Shooting a Super Redhawk 454.

Hard to find lead 454 loads on Hodgdon and Alliant for this one. I have the 454424 PB mold and a 300gr Lee GC mold.

Shot plenty of 45 Colt loads with the PB mold. Would like to find loads for the 300gr Lee shooting it in 454 and 45 Colt.

The Speer manual #14 has 454 Casull loads using the RCBS 45-270-SAA. I bet those same loads would work for the 454424.

At my photobucket page, there are lots of "ruger only" .45 colt loads from Hodgdon's 26th manual. Would be a good place to start for a .454 with lead.

Just look for the thumbnail pics that look like scanned pages from a book on the first page.

Thanks. The Lyman manual covers 45 Colt pretty well but nothing for 454. Hornady manual is about useless for our kind of lead. Need to dig out my Hodgdon and Speer manuals.

Getting too reliant on online data I guess.
