Hollow Base Mold for .41 Long Colt

I spent the night searching and did not find one.

Does anyone know of any custom makers that are currently making .41 hollow based or heeled bullets.

I am not looking for a compromise bullet that is tailored for a more modern gun like 41 magnum.

I used their design program, but they do not have a capability of making a hollow based mold or a heeled design with the required measurements. It was worth a try though....

MiHec might have a HBWC mold, give him a pm. I bought one of his hbwc molds for the 44 & absolutely love that mold/bullet. I don't know if they sold it but they had one listed in there inventory for febuary.

Tom at Accurate has a heel base design in his catalog.

Bernie at Old West bullet molds probably has something, possibly even a hollow base. Or you could have Tom cut you what you want and send it to Eric at hollowpointmold.com and have him put in hollow base pins. Although that would be a bit pricey.

Look for one of the old Rapine hollow base moulds. I have one for my .41 Colt and it works dandy.
It's a .386 and cast out of dead soft lead it weighs about 200 grains.

I picked up an Ideal 386177 tonight.
I will keep looking for the Rapine mold.
