I would like to get one of my hartford/rossi .45lc barrel cut from 24" back to 16.5", has anyone had this done? Any estimate on cost and decent gunsmiths who would do this for a reasonable price?
If you have had this done has it made any major diferences in shooting and handling?

I think Rossi makes a 16.5” already, if so it would be way cheaper trying to trade for a shorter one rather than chopping down you current one. If you do go ahead and have it cut down please post your results.

Lot's of folks wanting the longer barreled rifle. A trade or sell the one you have and buy the shorter barreled one might be the better option. Your choice though.

Nate Kiowa Jones, Cody Conagher, both great smiths, Jones may have more 92 experience, while Cody is heavy into Ubertis...

Don't really want to sell or trade. I have 6 new 24" Hartford models which are a bit nicer plus they are ones without the silly safety. I like the octagonal barrels without barrel bands. I shoot one blued one and one stainless.
have a pair of both blue and stainless with consecutive serial numbers locked up and unfired.
