I have noticed that most of the information I've seen for the .32 Win Spcl is for Winchester 94's in .32 Spcl. I have a Marlin 336 in .32 Spcl, micro goove rifling. I would like to shoot cast boolits for a local 200 yard gong match, no gas checks allowed. Might even try black powder loads. Has anyone had any experiece with the RCBS 170 in the Marlin? A freind of mine is sending me his Ranch Dog plain base .32 mold to try. Not sure that it would hold enough lubricant for BP though. I would appreciate any suggestions or sharring of experices as to bullet, lubricant, alloy and powder. I have Winchester brass and RCBS Cowboy dies I have tried the Lee 8mm bullet that works well in my older 336 with ballard rifling, with poor results. I think the nose is to small for the micro groove barrel, the nose engraves on the ballard when chambered but does not touch in the micro goove barrel.
Thanks
Owen

I have shot both the RD and the RCBS bullets with gas checks in my 32 spl. rifles. The RD seemed to be just slightly more accurate although both shoot quite well.

The rcbs boolit is amazingly accurate in my ol 32 marlin. Dont think its possible to improve the accuracy in this gun,its that good.......

Pretty sure the RD boolit won't be able to carry enough BP lube to make the trip to the muzzle but can't hurt much to try. I've been a bit disappointed in my 94 in .32 Win, wouldn't mind having a 336 in .32 Win. Sounds like a fine rifle in an excellent cartridge.

My 336 MG 30-30 likes both RD and RCBS with GC, accuracy isn't great PB but I'm working on that. I don't shoot BP.

+1 on this. Both my Marlin 32s have Ballard rifling,
