I hae been casting and reloading for over 40 years, but just started casting .356 bullets for a 9 mm Ruger P85. This is my first venture into casting for a semi. I started with a load of 3.8 grains of W231, and had stovepipe issues so stepped up to 4.1 grains which seem to cycle the action just fine. However, I am having feeding issues from the magazine with the SWC bullets. Is this a common issue with Ruger semi's and SWC? Would I be better off to cast a RN bullet? I am using a Lee 120 gr tl mold.
My oal is 1.125".
Thanks for helping!

more info needed on specifics of the "jam".

If failure to close, then likely need taper crimp or more taper crimp, or shorter LOA. Adjust
LOA to fit mag, and so that the shoulder is not seriously getting into the rifling, or the action
cannot close all the way.

Use the dismounted barrel as a gage to set up LOA and amount of TC so that the round
chambers freely.
