Just wondering if anyone has heard from LEO "shooters" locally about thier Glocks and the 45GAP caliber?

Getting ours later this year. It's gotta be a step up from the 9mm.

ISP is on track to replace thier G22s with it the next "purging" in a year or so.

ALOT of kicking and screaming from locals around here. But I like my G37 and will be getting the G39 later.

No opinion on it here, my old agency won't be adding it to the bevy of calibers it already approves (38 Special, 357 Mag, 380 ACP, 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP). There was some talk just before I retired of going "one-caliber"/"one-system", with the odds-on favorite being 40 S&W and Glock. With 1300 deputies to equip, the county balks every time the subject comes up. Most of our personnel are quite happy to buy their autopistol(s), and although it lacks uniformity--there is ZERO whining about caliber and platform with over 250 variants to choose from.

Rumor has it, Gaston Glock is almost giving the G37s away to PD in order to get them to switch over.

The main expense is the holsters. The G37/G38 won't fit in the G22/G17, with a few exception, sized holster due to the G21/G20 size frame.

We'll have to wait and see. I just hope the 45GAP is as good of a defense round as it is a shooting round.

One of the latest gun rags lists the 45gap as being almost dead and on the way out. It certianly isn't catching on in my area. Northeast WI that is. My department went with the sig220's last year when we switched. The 45gap was not considered.
