Marlin 45-70 Cowboy for a 375 Dakota in a Custom made Model 70 action?
A fella contacted me through another friend really wants my Marlin. Does this sound like a decent trade? 375 Dakota brass hard to come by?
TIA,
Duke
P.S. I'm waiting for pics.

Depends on if the M70 is built right. Is it a pre-64? Folks think those are worth a lot more. If it is right, it's sure a good deal for you if you want a Dakota and all that comes with it. You mentioned brass, also remember dies, shell holder (sometimes interesting to get right), jacketed bullets, lots of powder, etc.

Personally I'd keep it. Got to shoot one of the guide guns in 45-70 and I really liked it.
Brass for the Dakota is pretty pricey at about a $1.10 a case.
