I bought a Winchester 94 30-30 that was made in 1974 a few months ago for 225.00 dollars. Very little blue on the receiver. Not been shot very much but carried a lot. It is a perfect truck gun for me .......Terry

Bought my 1967 winnie 94 in 30-30 for $200, and sold it for $350 a year later.

After shootin my Marlin, I had no use for the Winnie.

Not shot very much but carried a lot is pretty much the norm, except for guys like those of us posting here. Typical 30-30 guys over the years are the guys who keep them in the closet or corner until deer season, then go to a gravel pit or out in the back yard, fire at a tin can or other makeshift target a couple of times to "check their sights" and then go hunting. If they get anything at all, it's usually with one or two shots. Some of these guys make a box of factory ammo last for several years. They are a part of Americana, but way different from those of us who handload and shoot hundreds or thousands of rounds a year. When their guns hit the market, these old Winnies and Marlins can be expected to be perfect truck guns in spite of worn-away bluing.

I had advertised locally to sell one of the 2 I have , a 1974 and a 1977. Needed more bucks than was in the "emergency stash" to help the daughter replace a worn out car to tote the one and only grandchild around in . I was asking $265 and $325 and most that called thought that was too much so I guess they're staying here .

Nope, thats "whinny"...

...and "Winnie" is a stuffed bear that wears a red T-shirt.

"Winnies" must be some sort of gun found in the gun rack next to those "shotties" they always talk about over there at Calguns.net.:p

Actually, from some of the ammo boxes I've seen, I'd say they can make the original ammo purchase last for decades - several....

I've seen boxes like that too. Decades would indicate that maybe somebody went a really long time without "checking out his sights" before deer season, and rarely, if ever, firing at a deer. Sometimes the ammo inside of those boxes gets pretty green-colored.
