The lightest length setting on this 45 do-all mold using the gas check plug is 235 grains with wheel weights. Going to try it out in 45ACP sized .452 with my extra stinky lube. Got some small primer pocket cases and some old CCI-550's. Reckon I will start low and keep adding powder until it cycles.

Does anyone have experience to relate on using magnum in place of the "standard" primers in 45ACP?

I've done it in the Great Primer Shortage of 2009 and really didn't notice much change in the chronographed velocities I was getting, but this was with only 1 brand of primer.

The deep lube grooves of that bullet mean it's longer than ordinary 230's, and given that I think I see a front brand in front of the first lube groove, I'll bet that bullet seats very deeply in the case in order to clear the rifling origin.

I'd reduce the load data a lot, initially, for that one due to that reason.

Four grains of Unique is plenty. Mild recoil. I hit with it.
