The sheriff car in the background is a perfect addition to this photo :bigsmyl2:

Shoot, for no more than people pay attention to motorcyclists I think that is just prudent planning!

Is your wife hanging out with Crash?

Actually I posted that picture a couple of years ago and Crash liked it. I got it in an e-mail from my brother in Texas.

I think Crash lives in the only state that one might, might actually get away with it. I remember when he picked that up and replaced his old "ugly mug" photo with it. Thanks Crash :kidding:

That would be one cool bike seat to have. Only problem with it is, in IL you got seen with something like that, they'd put you behind bars so fast it'd make your head spin.

Would be A-OK in CO too, but the local LEO's would probably make issues from ignorance anyway. Something that looks THAT pretty might be worth the hassle of educating them, however. I likes it!

I hafta confess....I swiped the photo offa the internet somewhere.....nary a smidgen of rememberence anymore. I am lucky to find the John in my trailer.....

However when out riding I usually pack my Taurus 1911 .45 ACP in a custom tan leather holster on the right hip and a pair of 10 round magazines in a El Paso Saddelry mag holder on the left hip.

For more lengthy social encounters I also have two 50 round MTM plastic ammo boxes in the saddlebags of the bike.

I am working on a scabboard for either my Garand, Model 97 Trenchgun or my 38-55 Marlin Cowboy rifle.....the prices are insane and I need to leave room for an air horn somewhere.....

Bear with me....I live in a tough neighborhood..............

Open carry is actually legal in most states in this country.

See http://www.opencarry.org/opencarry.html for a reference.

And Gear..... I get away with it daily. :P

Glad to see the states I romp around in are mostly yellow with your state being a green which I am still ok in.

Yeah, that green thing requires a little explanation.

It says licensed open carry because without a permit in utah, you can only open carry what's called "Utah unloaded" which for a semi automatic is a full magazine with a clear chamber.

With a permit, and Utah recognizes permits from any state if I recall correctly, you can open carry fully loaded, conceal fully loaded, and pretty well however else.

I tend to carry on an open chamber most of the time with all my firearms. just something I picked up decades ago and can't remember why but it works for me as working the action on a semi auto just seems to put the mind in the right mode.
thanks for the clarification

No problem.

I personally carry a live chamber, because I worry about not having that small amount of time it takes to work the slide.

To each their own though. It's more important you carry than what or how.
