I've been reading how other guys did theirs and I wanted to do one but never got a round tuit. But then the thermostat on my pot started acting up, so I went and did it. Wasn't as bad as I thought, just took a while to get all the parts together. The most difficult part was cutting all the holes in the housing. I tested it tonight, seem to hold within 5 deg once warmed up. We'll see how it does under real casting conditions. It is set to run 220 pots as my Magma and my RCBS are 220. I do have a cover for it, it just isn't on in the pics.

Looks good. You'll really like casting with it

I do! Used it twice now and it works perfect. The original thermostat worked fine too but with this I can actually see what the temp is without standing up to look at the thermometer. Seems to hold within 2 deg either way when the pot is heated up all the way. And now I can see exactly how much the lead cools off when new ingots are added while casting.

can you list the parts you used? I see the pid but the rest would help.
thx

I would like a parts list plus the supplier of the components, if you don't mind.

Give me a couple of days and I will do just that.
