Made it to the range yesterday. Bit of wind blowing , but not too bad. Trying some loads in my O3A3 :( and some others in my #1 that has been frustrating to get to group.
Finally got to trying the 314299 in the gun, as the 311299 was a bit loose on the nose, along with some 311284 and some Lee 314-190FP from a group buy along with some others.
Saw on one of the posts about using 322, but had some Ramshot X-terminator in the measure, and tried that along with some Ramshot TAC.
Didn't get to shoot all the loads as the Masters was getting ready to start so didn't stay long.
Tried the Accurate 31-135 SWC mould too. Its the group in the left of the target. Next was the 30-165 Sil Lee group buy in the bottom right. Next was the Lee 190FP in the upper right (pulled last one a bit high).
Suprise was the 314299. I only fired four (4) shots as looking thru the scope, I only saw two holes, the one on the left I pulled and the other hole, as I figured the load was scattering them everywhere. When I went to get the target, I saw the cluster of three (3):bigsmyl2:
Need to play with the Lee FP a bit more, as it shoots real well in my 308's and the 30-165 Sil, but have it coated in thin LLA instead of the moly coating i had on the boolits.
Looks like it likes heavier boolits

You have a #1 in 7.62x39? Factory or rebarrel? Groove diameter?

The best "fit" I have for my CZ 527 is a Lee C309-150-F that casts .302" x .312". With the front band just engaging the rifling, the GC is at the base of the neck, but still in the neck. It shoots best with the GC applied in a .313" die and lube only ahead of the GC. I tried with lube in the lower lube groove and sized in a .312" die and it didn't do nearly as well.

The tapered Saeco #315 and 311041 are both excellent fits in my carbine. They are (likewise) loaded to engage and result in a long cartridge, but do function from my magazine. Due to the sharp recoil from my flyweight rifle, I've not pursued loads with these boolits, but they shot well from the word go. In a heavier rifle a heavier boolit woulld be worth checking out.

It seems ruger used the same barrels on the 7.62x39 as the 303 british.
That 314299 looks to show some promiss.

Factory.

Groove, about 0.3098" IIRC

Still have the 311041 and the 247gr Whisper boolit to try.

I do size most 30's to .313". A few exceptions to .311"

Yeah, the 314299 is looking good so far. Will work a little more with the 190gr Lee also, and the 30-165 Sil.
