A Very close friend ( Big Ryan ) referred me to this site and said that if I want to get help with 45LC boolits this is the place for it.

I have started collecting old Rare Ammo Civilian & Military + odd ball calibers to hand down to my 2 son's, hopefully they will past it on as well.

Well I just picked up this Rifle yesterday and was told that it's Rare made for Cabela's a few years back, so I've been looking online to find one like it but I am unable to find one.

I did find a similar one but it's not quite it.

This is what I have it's made By Umberti 1860 Mod Henry and it has a Stamp on the left side it Cursive "Cabela's" Scroll work all on the Receiver, It's in Prestine condition & would like to know if anyone has this same Rifle when were they Produced.

Thanks in Advance.

Not rare, but a copy of a very rare rifle, I don't believe that any Ubertis or other Italian copies, draw a premium because of it being rare IMHO.

Greetings and Welcome to our place.
45 Colt is an excelent one ! One of my favorite.. toss up with 41 's. But that is one nice lever rifle..
Main thing if you shoot smokesless is get a boolit fat enough for the throat and match hardness of the lead to the pressure on the base. You do not need rock hard boolits to shoot in an 66 replica.

I don't know about rare, but I do know I'd be shooting it. Pistols and rifles are made to be used, not just looked at. Join SASS, take that thing out and enjoy it, doing what it was meant to do....be shot!

Don't see too many 1860 replicas at SASS matches, so you'd be the talk of the match, every time you brought it out.

Welcome Aboard. An outstanding group of individuals you have keyed into. Yes, there are a few troll's but it does not take long to smell them out! Give a man a fish, teach a man to fish. Gtek

Yep, pretty well sums up the way I feel about it.

I catch a ration **** sometimes for when I shoot these two old ones of mine, but it is just too much fun with black powder loads. Both of these pieces I bought from neighbor and had been in his family for many decades.

JM Marlin Ballard #5 Pacific in .45-70, made circa 1878-79.

Colt 1873 SA in .44-40, Colt letter says made in 1886 and shipped in 1887.

The old period holster came with it when I purchased.

Thanks for the input guys, I called Cabela's and Umberti and they said they will have to get back in touch with me within 72 hrs. I did find out that Cabela's discontinued selling them in 2005 but thats about it. Wanted to find out the yr they were selling them and price if possible.

I'm pretty sure the engraving was done by Brian Cannavaro, one of our local artists. He did a bunch of those for Uberti.
