was just playin around , shootin a little , figured id take this pic and put on here.
any guesses to what caliber and projectile did this?

it was shot at 100yrds , it is a 2.5'' thick hardened steel block.

here is a couple hints, was shot from a factory barrel
it was not a pistol lol
and the best hint , 200grain projectile

wanna try n guess caliber, gun, j-word or cast?

by the way the winner gets uhhh to be the one that guessed it lol.

Robert, thats a good guess , but thats not it.

i figured there would be more guesses by now.

more hints:
factory 24'' sporter barrel (1:10'' twist) savage 110 rifle

was a reload, not factory ammo

was a hollow point

ill give more hints if there is some more guesses, and then ill give the anwser

southpaw you are half right,, 300wm is right.... since you were right ill go ahead and say it was a hpbt smk bullet.

was just playing around as i said , i think if i had a lighter bullet with more velocity i would have got more penetration. maybe one of the armor pirecing 30-06 bullits.

anyway i was hoping for more penetration with the 200gr but i guess it takes velocity to cut steel.

so there is the awnser , i might try and take pics of my rifle and put up later on , its a rifle i got so much money in that i have to like it lol.

yea it was a sierra matchking bullit, 83.7gr ramshot magnum and a fed 215m mag. match primer in privi brass with modfied flash hole. this is not a max load (for my rifle anyway) but seems to hold good groups. i like shooting the heaver bullits in this gun and have thought about tryin some 220gr or more but since the twist is 1:10 maybe its best to stay below 200-208gr. also they are probably not the easiest on barrell life.
i have shot some 150gr and 180gr in it and it does great with those too.

anyway thanks to all for the replys, and when i get to feeling better ill try and get pics of the gun and see what youall think of it.
it aint the only gun i got but its one of my favorite to shoot.
