Is the LT as tough as the tube style Ultradots? How is the brightness and how does it compare to the Burris Fastfire 2?

I have two of the Ultradot LTs: one mounted on a Ruger MK II678GC and 6” S&W 617. I find they work very well. I don’t know how they compare to the Fastfire, but they seem bright to me.

Watch the mount with heavy recoil. It depends on one thin screw in a base groove and friction for the rest.
I was just snugging one up and sheared the screw and have heard of heavy recoil busting it.

I use the Pan-V on the BFR 475 but it is too bright in low light. The L/T is probably the same. Too bright.

I stay with the tubes for hunting and use the front extension. Bad weather, rain, snow does not appeal to me with the heads up stuff. Seems too much open exposure to keep clean.
I used to like the Millet red dot for brightness, had to turn it up a lot to see the dot but in low light it was good. I just broke too many, pulled the prizm on many Bushnell's too. I was always steel bedding the glass back in, that fixes them and is better then the wheat paste glue the Chinese used.

Thanks for the info guys. I have an Ultradot 30 on a Ruger Redhawk and have never had any problem. I think I'll stay with what I've been using. Sometimes I think it is easier to find the dot in a tube style sight anyway.
