Decided to dig out a revolver i hadn't been shooting in years.

It is an old model 10 i had built up as a PPC style gun 20 years or so ago.

I seem to be getting quite a bit of leading in the cylinder throats , actual flakes of lead .

It seems to brush out pretty easy , but i am getting it after only about 30-50 rounds or so .

I was using 2.7 gr Bullseye with both a Star HB WC bullet and also a ???? 148 gr double ended cast wadcutter.

The Star bullet measures around . 3575' , the double ended bullet .358"

The cylinder throats are , near as i can tell .3575"

The take a .357 plug gauge , but won't take a .358 gauge .

The Star HBWC , at .3575 just pushed thru the cylinder throat , the .358 bullet won't easily pust thru.

I am not getting any noticeable leading in the barrel , just the cylinder throat.

any suggestions.

thanks

Joe

How rough are the throats? I'd bump the load up a hair and see if it helps, may
not be fully filling the throats at very low pressure. See if 3.0 or 3.2 helps.

Im wondering if that particular lot of bullets is too soft? Sounds like your gun is correct dimensionally.
