I have an old Potters pot. Looks to be never used.
I finally found a cord for it. It's 100volt.
I'd like to know how I counld make it variable heat without spending much.
I was thinking of splicing a temp comtrol from an old stove.
Would this work????
Any other ideas????

There are also devices sold to vary the speed of single speed routers, might also work. No splicing required just plug it in.

I was asked to post this comment by another member who is unable to access the board:

The LEE method is the cheapest, the 'Infinite Control' as it's called,
will do the job as well as it does on the LEE pot.

The router control Idea will not work - too high of current draw.

Build a PID and control the heat within 5 degrees PERFECTLY..........

It will even maintain perfect temperature as the level of lead in the pot goes down.

No rheostat is going to do that.
