I just cast some boolits with the Lyman 452490 mold…
I purchased this critter for my Blackhawk 45 Colt…
Now, I get looking for data and Lyman doesn’t even show data for it with the 45 Colt…
They do with the 454…
Is the 452490 not meant for the 45 Colt?...
It weighs in at around 265 grains when checked and lubed…
I wonder if I could start by using the data for the 45-270-SAA that weighs in at around 280 grains…
Or possible use the data for the 452424 boolit?...
Guess I should have looked at the Lyman data before I made the order…
I have noticed that there are no “heavy” loads for the 452424 boolit listed in the Lyman manuals…
I am using charges of H-110, Lil’Gun, and 4227 with the 45-270-SAA and this data came from various articles in Handloader Magazine…
Any thoughts on the slow burners used with the 452490?...
Dang…
